The crucial aspect of tuberculosis control lies in the accurate diagnosis and effective management of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). This study focuses on assessing the prevalence of LTBI among a group of healthy children who have received the Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination but have not been previously exposed to tuberculosis. To achieve this, the research utilizes two diagnostic methods: the tuberculin skin test (TST) and the QuantiFERON TB Gold In-Tube (QFT-GIT). By comparing the results of these two tests, the study aims to provide insights into the agreement and concordance between traditional and advanced diagnostic approaches for LTBI. This comparative analysis holds the potential to refine diagnostic strategies, ensuring precision in identifying latent tuberculosis, and contributes to the advancement of capabilities in tuberculosis prevention and control. The outcomes of this research are particularly relevant to Hypro Diagnostics, offering a nuanced understanding of LTBI prevalence in BCG-vaccinated children and guiding future diagnostic interventions in the ongoing global efforts against tuberculosis.
