MICRO FILARIA

Microfilaria represents the larval phase of filarial parasitic worms, responsible for inducing filariasis. The adult worms inhabit the bloodstream and lymphatic system of infected individuals, releasing microfilariae into the blood. Mosquitoes serve as intermediaries in this intricate lifecycle, acquiring microfilariae during a blood meal. Within the mosquito, these larvae undergo maturation, reaching an infective stage. The subsequent bites from infected mosquitoes introduce these infective larvae into new hosts, where they mature into adult worms, perpetuating the filariasis cycle. The presence of adult worms in the lymphatic system can lead to severe health complications, underscoring the significance of preventing mosquito bites and controlling the spread of filarial infections.
