Elevated impedance in blood flow signals an increased risk of complications such as pre-eclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). For women with normal flow impedance, the risk of placental insufficiency-related issues is low. However, in cases of increased impedance, we recommend regular fetal wellbeing scans to monitor the baby’s growth.
