During a radiographic examination of the proximal femur, key anatomical features such as the femoral shaft, pelvic brim, obturator foramen, acetabulum, ischial spine, femoral head, and femoral neck are prominently visible. Conversely, a distal femur radiograph provides a clear view of the knee joint, proximal tibia and fibula, femoral condyles and epicondyles, as well as the distal two-thirds of the femoral shaft. The X-ray femur AP (anteroposterior) view is essential in the diagnostic arsenal of Hypro Diagnostics, especially when clinical symptoms suggest potential bone injuries or when a femur fracture is partially captured in hip or knee X-rays. This diagnostic approach facilitates a comprehensive assessment of the femur, enabling the detection and evaluation of various pathological conditions or injuries that may impact this critical skeletal structure.
