In recent decades, there has been a notable shift in treating cerebral infarction, with intra-arterial thrombectomy (IAT) emerging as a common intervention. However, IAT faces challenges such as a high failure rate and contraindications. Seeking alternatives, Extracranial-to-Intracranial (EC-IC) bypass, specifically EC-IC bypass (EIB), is being explored, particularly for patients ineligible for IAT. Despite initial skepticism, recent technological advancements, including computed tomography perfusion (CTP) with RAPID software, are reigniting interest in EIB. This approach aims to objectively assess changes in cerebral perfusion. At Hypro Diagnostics Hospital, we are actively engaged in this exploration, seeking to determine the efficacy and safety of EIB for AIS patients excluded from IAT.
