ANTI HEPATITIS B ANTIBODY TITRE

The appearance of HAV-specific IgM antibodies in a patient’s serum is indicative of recent exposure to the Hepatitis A virus (HAV). Typically detectable in the blood around 4 weeks post-infection, these antibodies remain elevated for approximately 2 months before gradually diminishing. By the 6-month mark, they usually become undetectable, with rare persistence beyond 12 months following the initial infection.
