ALLERGY PANEL II (20 PARAMETERS)
The oral food challenge stands as the gold standard in food allergy testing, involving a closely monitored and gradual introduction of a suspected food allergen under medical supervision. This method serves to definitively diagnose or rule out a food allergy by observing the patient’s reaction. In addition to the oral food challenge, doctors may utilize an Immunoglobulin (IgE) blood test. This test evaluates the presence of allergen-specific IgE antibodies in the bloodstream subsequent to exposure to a food allergen. When the immune system identifies certain foods as threats, it generates these antibodies to combat the perceived invaders. The IgE blood test is effective in detecting a range of common food allergies and various combinations of allergens, aiding in the identification and assessment of potential allergic reactions.
